Canine Support Teams is searching for volunteers in the following areas:

Puppy Raisers

Looking for a fun and fulfilling way to make a difference? We are actively seeking dedicated individuals to open their hearts and homes to our future heroes. As a puppy raiser, you will play a crucial role in socializing and teaching basic obedience to these special puppies. Volunteer to become a Puppy Raiser at the link below!

KENNELS

Are you passionate about animals and committed to their well-being? We're seeking dedicated volunteers to join our team and assist in maintaining clean and hygienic kennel spaces for our dogs! Volunteer jobs include cleaning kennels, doing laundry and general maintenance. This volunteer opportunity is available on weekdays only.

Fundraising

As a fundraising volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to utilize your creativity and communication skills to organize events, reach out to donors, and spread awareness about our cause. Whether you have experience in fundraising or are eager to learn, your efforts will directly contribute to making a difference in the lives of those we serve. Take up a collection, host a fundraising activity, collect IN-KIND donations for both dog care, and raffle baskets for our special events.

Transport

Help transport puppies to puppy raiser homes, pick up donations from local businesses, or deliver items to an event. No special qualifications are required, just a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license and a passion for supporting our mission.

Special Events

As a special events volunteer, you'll play a key role in coordinating logistics, engaging with attendees, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Whether it's a gala, fundraiser, community fair, or awareness campaign, your creativity and commitment will help us deliver successful events that support our mission and connect people with our cause.

Photos/Videos

Do you have a passion for visual storytelling and a talent for capturing meaningful moments? We're looking for dedicated photographers and videographers to join our volunteer team and help us document and share the impactful stories of our organization.

Sewing

Calling all sewing enthusiasts! Do you have a passion for sewing and a heart for helping others? We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our sewing team and make a real impact in our organization. We always need vest/jacket repairs, sewing on patches, and replacement of “Puppy Capes.”

Grooming

Volunteer Your Grooming Skills for a Paw-sitive Cause! We have oodles of poodles and doodles that require regular grooming during their training period. (This position is only open to professional groomers.)

Landscaping

Do you have a passion for gardening and transforming outdoor spaces? Our volunteer landscapers play a vital role in maintaining and beautifying our facility. Help with landscaping and beautifying our outdoor property. (*Due to liability restrictions, volunteers must be licensed, bonded, insured professionals)

Frequently Asked Questions

Great question! To become a volunteer with CST, you must be at least 16 years old and commit to either 90 days or 40 hours of service. Additionally, volunteers are required to purchase a volunteer T-shirt and complete orientation and any required training.

Orientation currently takes place at our facility in Murrieta, CA. Volunteers are required to sign in and complete all necessary forms. After that, a tour of the facility will be provided, and you will have the opportunity to purchase a volunteer shirt. During the orientation, we will ask questions to determine where you will best fit within our volunteer program. You can expect to spend 1-2 hours with us during orientation.

Not all volunteer positions require training, but most do. You will receive full training from the department manager on your specific volunteer duties. For example, kennel volunteers will learn how to properly disinfect kennel areas and properly handle dogs.

Yes! We provide letters to verify community service hours, and volunteers completing 100+ hours of service are eligible for The President’s Award. We keep our volunteers informed with a regular Volunteer Newsletter and offer benefits after 90 days, such as discounted boarding for personal dogs. Additionally, volunteers receive a complimentary seat at our yearly graduation event.

Yes, we provide a form to fulfil community service hours for school or hours that are court mandated and will sign any court documents required.

We encourage those under the age of 16 to become a junior ambassador and work independently to raise awareness and funds in their communities. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Organize a fundraising event, such as a bake sale or car wash.
  • Create and distribute informational flyers about our organization.
  • Spread the word on social media to educate others about our cause.
  • Host a donation drive to collect items we need, like dog food, toys, or cleaning supplies.
